LULU McCLATCHY
“McClatchy has a sensational vocal range and the comic skills of a Lucille Ball.”
Coral Drouyn, Stage Whispers
Lulu McClatchy is an Australian actress, writer, singer, comedian and Producer – not necessarily in that order. Lulu is known to many audiences around the globe for her larger than life alter ego “SuperGirly” which catapulted her onto the international stage all those (not so many!) years ago. “I WISH WE COULD SING YOUR LYRICS INSTEAD OF OURS” – Mel C, Spice Girls
Lulu created, wrote and Produced her own musical stand up show called  SuperGirly. SuperGirly took the UK by storm, Lulu ended up writing, performing and producing major live shows which played to packed houses at Edinburgh Fringe and a string of UK tours, culminating in a sold out season on the West End over seven years.
SuperGirly became one of the most requested shows to perform at Private Celebrity Parties in the UK, with performances for Elton John, Madonna, Mick Jagger, The Spice Girls and Queen to name a few.
On the back of this success Lulu was personally requested by Sir Elton John to support him on the Australian leg of his 2002 World Tour before going on to co-star in the 22 date US/Canadian tour of the Just For Laughs Comedy Gala alongside comedy royalty like Harland Williams, Louis Ramey and Ron White.
Lulu then Co-Produced a two successful Melbourne seasons of a brand new show called SuperGirly -Return of the Pop Princess, with Melbourne Production company Lab Kelpie Productions,  this new version of the show also introduced the new character “Bradley Cooper” played by Lyall Brooks, and allowed the SuperGirly world to expand to a full theatrical version of the show.
The success of SuperGirly continued with a BBC sitcom. Already a house-hold name in the UK, Lulu quickly became the “must-have” performer at celebrity parties, performing at private shows for the likes of Madonna, Bob Geldof, Queen, and Elton John’s famed Tiara Ball.
Eventually Lulu decided to return home and conquer her home turf, landing the role as Eva Doyle, the wrestling love interest of Toadie on Neighbours. Then a lead role in the ABC film Valentine’s Day.
Guest appearances on Blue Heelers and Spicks and Specks soon followed before she made her international film debut playing the light-hearted Bonnie in Fox’s Aquamarine. This opened the doors to co star in the Australian films The Sunset Six, 6 Plots and Not Suitable for Children.
Lulu gathered a new legion of fans when she took on the memorable role of the politically incorrect Cassandra Downie in Rebel Wilson’s comedy Bogan Pride for SBS  a role she considers one of her all time favourites!
In 2012 Lulu won a Best Actress Award at the Maverick Movie Awards in LA and also won Best Performance in the Florida Short Film Festival for her leading role in Auditioning Fanny.
Lulu has recently appeared on Melbourne theatre stages in Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig, a brand new SuperGirly show titled SuperGirly: Return of the Pop Princess which has already returned for a second season due to popular demand and most recently as Tania in the brand new Australian musical Sexercise. More recently… Lulu has co starred in 3 feature films. TRENCH, THE COMET KIDS and THAT’S NOT MY DOG, with Shane Jacobson and Paul Hogan, and has been performing on stage in AVENUE Q and CALENDAR GIRLS. In 2019 Lulu has also been touring Australia in HIT productions hilarious production WAIST WATCHERS THE MUSICAL playing CONNIE. And in 2020 will be see cameoing in Paul Hogan’s feature film THE VERY EXCELLENT MR DUNDEE.
